The Nehru Zoological Park is a paradise for all wildlife enthusiasts. It is located at a distance of about 16 km from Hyderabad in the Bahadupur region. This zoo, extending over 400 acres of lush green land, houses over 250 different species of animals and birds, kept under conditions simulating their natural habitats. Here you can spot the Indian Rhino, African and Indian lions, tigers, panthers, jackals, American bison, antelopes, black bucks and various indigenous animals. One major attraction in the Nehru Zoological park is the lion safari park. There is also a natural history museum and a children’s park. For all the bird lovers, the Miralam Tank is a nice place to check out some rare species of migratory birds. The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation has also started ferry boats and speed boats in Nehru Zoological Park which is attracting a huge crowd these days.

Shamirpet lake is a beautiful man-made lake which was built during the Nizam reign. It is located at a distance of about 27 km from Hyderabad. The Shamirpet Deer Park beside the lake houses different species of deer in their natural habitat. The serene environment of this place makes it a perfect picnic spot. The lake also attracts a large flock of migratory birds. Several cottages around the lake, created by the Andra Pradesh Forest Department, are also available for tourist accommodation.

Located at about 17 km from Hyderabad is Runway 9, the largest and only international go-karting center with a length of 711 metres, lit up by 50,000-watt power white metal halide lamps. At Runway 9 you can indulge in all kinds of delightful recreational activities like go-karting, snooker, archery, shooting, and roller skating. There are also some fast food restaurants and exclusive party areas around where you can spend some relaxing time with your family and friends.

The NTR Gardens adjoining the Hussain Sagar Lake is a popular tourist destination in Hyderabad. The garden houses a Memorial of Late Shri N.T. Rama Rao, former chief minister, with an impressive work of of architecture. Apart from being an excellent place for spending a relaxed evening, NTR Gardens also provides various options for recreation such as the Japanese garden, car cafe, children’s play area, bowling alley and other places where visitors can have a fun time.

Less than an hour’s drive from Hyderabad city is Shilparamam, an arts and crafts village showcasing brilliant art works and handicrafts of artists from all over the country.
